New tour! Tastes of Govanhill

A tour with a difference – do our dates never work for you? Maybe you, heartbreakingly, don’t live in Glasgow? We have the very thing!

Check out our beautiful new self-guided tour which will take you on a journey through refugee histories and food cultures in the built environment of this Southside neighbourhood. You can follow the route in real life or experience it online. At each stop, listen to audio of the conversations, recommendations and insights of the community historians of Milk Glasgow.

This project was a collaboration between MilkMigrant Voice, Radical Glasgow Tours and the Scottish Refugee Council, grant-aided by Glasgow City Heritage Trust. Thje tour and accompanying resources were created for Refugee Festival Scotland 2025.

Photo of a group of people standing above letters in sand which read "refugee histories", beside this is a photo of a building which has had large letters added to each window which read "LOOK AGAIN"

Coming soon: The Glasgow You’ve Never Seen – another new tour developed by refugee historians from Migrant Voice, taking you round some less well-known sights and sites of Glasgow city centre.
