All monthly tours (fundraisers excluded) are pay what you can, pricing is on a sliding scale but if cost is a barrier you can message us for free tickets no questions asked. Radical history is for everyone!!

Vouchers: if you have a gift voucher and would like to use it to book a Revolutionary Glasgow tour please email us with the date you’d like to book and the voucher code on the back. For all other tours you can book using the voucher codes directly via Eventbrite.

Our regular tours run April to October, but you can arrange private tours year round – ideal for work events, trade union meetings, conferences, pals days out. Have a look at this page for more details of our tours and how to book.

The 4th and last of Glasgow’s huge international exhibitions, by the 1938 Empire Exhibition in Bellahouston Park there was anti-colonial pushback against this imperialist spectacle. The Independent Labour Party and the Workers’ Empire Exhibition Committtee ran an Anti-Empire Exhibition for the duration of the exhibition in the nearby and ironically named Kingston Halls. This was driven by the work of Black radical intellectuals from the pan-African International African Service Bureau like C L R James, George Padmore and Amy Ashwood Garvey. Gratefully accepting any radical Madrid recommendations in the comments! 🚩📍Pin Badge Friday📍🚩 a celebration of the political pin badge On this day, 9th Oct, in 1993, Nelson Mandela - anti-apartheid activist, revolutionary and first democratically elected President of South Africa - danced in the rain in George Square. @thewakesband in concert at @gracesglasgow to celebrate @ibmt_scw AGM being held in Glasgow. This banner is called "Nelson Mandela - Freeman of Glasgow - Prisoner of Apartheid" and was painted by Jim Cathcart in 1981 to mark Mandela being given the freedom of the city of Glasgow (he was then still imprisoned on Bobben Island). It's currently held by @glasgow_caledonian_university in the archives of the Scottish Anti-Apartheid Movement. Jim worked with @we_are_glaswegian making banners, May Day posters and exhibitions. They said, "Jim was fundemental to us screenprinting posters at Cranhill Arts. Without his help and guidance we would not have progressed so quickly nor scaled up so successfully."
